Education Minister Rohit Thakur addressed concerns today regarding the declining standards of education during the previous BJP administration, citing a slip to 18th place in the state's educational quality ranking.

Thakur attributed this decline to past governance but highlighted recent improvements under the Congress government's initiatives.

He emphasized the implementation of various ambitious schemes in the past year and a half, leading to noticeable progress. Thakur also underlined efforts to enhance vocational education, aiming to boost employment prospects for the youth, as mentioned in the reports by The Tribune India.

Rohit Thakur announced that over 7000 teaching positions in the education department, including JBT, TGT, PGT, and college lecturers, will be filled through direct recruitment and batchwise appointments to ensure uninterrupted education for students. Additionally, to address the state's unique circumstances, a School Cluster Scheme has been initiated to facilitate resource sharing among schools. English medium education has been introduced from the first grade in all government schools, and pre-nursery classes are now available in over 6000 primary schools, with the recruitment process for nursery teachers underway to meet this demand.

Moreover, Thakur assured the public that the government was actively addressing the shortage of teachers by recruiting over 7,000 personnel across different educational levels. This, he stated, was essential to ensure uninterrupted learning for students. Thakur revealed the introduction of a school cluster scheme aimed at optimizing educational resources collectively.
