Multiple schools in Delhi and a couple in Noida received threatening emails of bomb attacks on Wednesday morning, leading to widespread evacuations. The Ministry of Home Affairs labelled the emails as likely hoaxes, calming the panicked parents gathered outside the schools.

After extensive checks, the Delhi Police confirmed the absence of bombs in the schools targeted by the threats. Ravinder Yadav, Special CP of Delhi Police (Crime), mentioned that hospitals received similar emails the previous day.

Upon receiving the bomb threats, schools, including Delhi Public School (DPS) branches in Dwarka and Vasant Kunj, Mother Marry School in East Mayur Vihar, Sanskriti School, Amity School in Pushp Vihar, and DAV School in South West Delhi evacuated their premises. Similarly, in Noida, DPS and Apeejay School were affected.

According to sources familiar with the situation, students were swiftly sent home following the protocol after the threats were received.

Sources suggested that the emails originated from Russia, though the IP address might have been masked through a VPN. The use of the Russian language in the IP address further indicated this possibility. An investigation is ongoing.

The Ministry of Home Affairs assured the public that the threats were likely fake and urged against panic. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena announced that Delhi Police have traced the origin of hoax bomb emails sent to nearly 100 schools in Delhi and the NCR, assuring citizens of strict action. The emails, routed via VPN to foreign servers, prompted extensive police investigations, resulting in no suspicious findings. The Delhi Police's Special Cell and fire department conducted thorough inspections, urging parents to remain calm while ensuring school safety. Delhi Public School Noida promptly informed authorities and parents, prioritizing student safety by sending them home.
