Assam down town University hosted its Spring Fest (বসন্ত উৎসৱ) today as part of the Rongali Bihu celebrations, bringing together music, culture, and student enthusiasm on campus. The event featured a special live performance by popular Assamese artist Abhishruti Bezbaruah.

Held at the university campus in Panikhaiti, the celebration reflected the festive spirit of spring and the cultural vibrancy associated with Rongali Bihu, one of Assam’s most significant festivals.

Students participated enthusiastically as the campus came alive with music, performances, and festive energy throughout the event. The live performance by Abhishruti Bezbaruah became one of the major highlights of the celebration, attracting strong participation from students and music lovers.

According to the university, the Spring Fest was organised to celebrate youth, togetherness, and Assamese cultural traditions while creating an engaging environment for students beyond academics.

The event also reflected the growing role of universities in promoting regional culture and student engagement through campus festivals and cultural activities. With melodies blending into the spirit of the Bihu season, Spring Fest 2026 created a vibrant atmosphere at Assam Downtown University and added to the festive celebrations taking place across Assam this month.

Under the title ‘CODESTONE', Alpha School of RBU is hosting a wonderful 24-hour hackathon that invites the young innovators of India to collaborate, brainstorm and compete for glory.

The event takes place today and tomorrow (8th-9th May 2026) and offers up to ₹50,000 for winners, along with some awesome prizes and swag. Currently there are more than 100 teams registered from five dynamic domains and CODESTONE provides a golden opportunity for the students to display their skills of solving real world problems.

The hackathon highlights the school's focus on practical, industry-centric skills in computer science, cyber security, and new technologies.

Ganpat University will conduct a career guidance seminar in Ahmedabad which will assist students and their parents to discover possible career paths after they complete their 10th and 12th grade studies.

The seminar will take place at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukharjee Hall Vastral Ahmedabad on 10 May 2026 (Sunday) from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

The university created this event to assist students who need help selecting academic courses and determining their professional paths after they have finished their high school studies.

The session will feature Manish Vaghasia as the guest speaker. At the event he will inform students and parents about career possibilities and methods for making employment choices in various industries.

The seminar will provide students with guidance about more than 125 career options which they can pursue after completing their secondary and higher secondary education.

IILM University students delivered an impressive performance at the Galgotias University Sports Fest 2026 held from 26 to 28 April, bringing home top positions in pickleball and chess.

The university celebrated the achievements of students who represented the institution across multiple competitions during the fest, highlighting the growing importance of sports participation alongside academics in higher education.

Among the standout performers was Rukh Acharya, a BBA student, who secured the championship title in Pickleball Singles. Adding to the success, Anushka Tyagi from B.Tech Computer Science Engineering also emerged as Champion in the Pickleball Singles category.

The university also recorded another podium finish in pickleball through Shreyansh Jain, a B.Tech CSE student, who won the bronze medal and secured third place in the singles category.

In chess, Vishesh Maurya from B.Tech CSE achieved second position, adding another major accomplishment to the university’s overall performance at the event.

The achievements reflect the university’s continued focus on encouraging students to participate in extracurricular and competitive activities alongside academics. This 6-week online course is designed to help students in Grades 8-12 to develop an entrepreneurial mindset early- transforming curious learners into confident, start-up ready thinkers.

AIC-RNTU has come up with “Inspiring Gen-Next in Innovation, Thinking & Entrepreneurship,” aka IGNITE, an online course. It is a guided, mentor experience in which students learn directly through the founders of startups and industry mentors, gaining real world exposure on how ideas become businesses. The program has a total of 12 live, interactive sessions, all of 2-hour duration, to ensure depth, engagement, and learning.

What IGNITE is special about is that it is application oriented, and not theory oriented. Learners are not only taught concepts, they are also taught to think like an entrepreneur, identify a problem, develop a solution, and learn the basics of starting a business. With India steadily emerging as a global startup hub, such programs as IGNITE are increasingly becoming instrumental in equipping the next generation of not only to come and take part in the future, but also to build it.

APG Shimla University will host a Mega Health Checkup Camp together with a Blood Donation Camp on May 5, 2026, to promote preventive healthcare and community well-being in collaboration with Atulaya Healthcare. 

Mega Health Checkup Camp with Advanced Testing Package

The university and Atulaya Healthcare will offer an extensive health screening service which includes a full-body advanced package at a significantly subsidised price. 

The camp will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the university’s reception area. The package will now cost ₹1,299 after its original price of ₹4,760 to make it available to all students and local residents.

The health package includes over 60 diagnostic tests, covering:

• Complete Blood Count and blood sugar levels test
• Thyroid and lipid profile tests
• Liver and kidney function tests
• Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D3 levels
• Calcium, phosphorus, and HbA1C tests

Participants must arrive at the testing site without eating anything to achieve precise results. The program targets young adults in order to create awareness about preventive healthcare and support early detection methods. 

Blood Donation Camp to Support Life-Saving Efforts

The university will conduct a Blood Donation Camp at Block 7 starting from 11:00 AM after the health camp in partnership with Kamla Nehru Hospital Shimla. 

The School of Pharmacy and Allied & Healthcare Sciences organized the camp to encourage people to donate blood while building up the local medical system. University officials explained that one blood donation can save several lives while urging students and residents to take part in the event.

APG Shimla University’s health initiative will include medical assessments, educational programs, and community participation.
