Do You Want to Spend Your Summer 2026 in Germany? We are inviting applications for the HZB International Summer Program 2026. It is a Fully Funded Eight-week summer internship opportunity in Berlin from 6th July to 28th August 2026. The HZB summer program will be hosted at the HZB Campuses in Berlin. Fellows will have a chance to work on their own research project with or in close cooperation with HZB researchers in the field. The most thrilling thing about the HZB International Summer Student Program (ISSP) is that there is NO application fee or IELTS, and students of all backgrounds around the world can apply. 20 Master's and Bachelor's students join the Summer Program in Germany every year to work and research on the Projects with the HZB scientists. Monetary Benefits

The HZB Summer Program will provide:

Non-European Countries:

Total Allowance (Meals, Accommodation, Other): €1900

Travel/Airfare (Up to): €800

European Countries:

Total Allowance (Meals, Accommodation, Other): €1000

Travel/Airfare (Up to): €200

Residence charges also covered for all.

HZB Summer Program Fields

The Participants will collaborate with Scientists in the Fields of:

Photon Science, Photovoltaics, Solar Cells/Catalysis, Electrochemical Energy Storage, Quantum and Functional Materials, and Accelerator research.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to all students of all countries. EU Students and non-EU students are welcome.
  • You should be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in a subject related to Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Structural Biology, Mathematics, Engineering, Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or a similar subject.
  • You should have studied at least two years of full-time study at the university level.
  • You should be free to contribute fully to the program for the entire duration.
  • Good English Communication Skills.
  • You will need to give a letter of reference from your professor or research worker who knows your work.

Conditions of the Program

  • Regular full attendance during the duration is a requirement.
  • Work schedule: 40 hours/week.
  • An 8-week internship agreement to carry out your project.
