MATS University has announced Papon Live at MANAR 5.0- celebrating music, culture, and inclusivity. This cultural festival will be held on Friday, January 17 at 7pm in Omaya Garden, near the university campus. The evening will feature celebrated Assamese singer Angaraag Mahanta, or Papon, performing his traditional folk fusion and Bollywood song mixes as "A voice that brings people together," highlighting music, culture, and Mission Inclusivity among students and families of Raipur.
MANAR 5.0 marks the fifth edition of MATS University's annual cultural extravaganza, transforming the open-air Omaya Garden into Raipur's premier concert venue. Papon on stage with the hits such as "Jiyein Kaise" of Aahista as well as "Dekho Na" of Fame fit well into the vision of cultural integration of the university, as the group is linking the youth of Chhattisgarh with the world of Indian music through trending hash tags such as MANAR5, MissionInclusivity, PaponLive, LiveInConcert and MATS that are buzzing with students on the social media.
The festival comes at the right time during a post-New Year college fest season in Chhattisgarh, making MATS University the cultural education hub in Central India after recent achievements at nearby colleges at OP Jindal University and Amity Raipur. The 20,000+ students of MATS can enter free (with priority seating by university application) and the general population have a limited number of tickets to Papon concert, which makes it affordable to the Raipur families. Also, the spacious parking area of Omaya Garden, the venue that is just 20-25 minutes away from Swami Vivekananda Airport and Raipur Railway Station, makes the event more enjoyable and accessible.
Papon has an excellent Northeast-Indian fusion style, which is highly aligned with MANAR mission of inclusivity that links the tribes, urban, and international students in a lovely 110-acre campus that the MATS University developed and was given recognition as a private higher educational institution under the Chhattisgarh Private Universities Act, 2008, 2(f). Beyond the live performance, attendees can expect student cultural stalls showcasing Chhattisgarh heritage, inclusivity workshops, and local Raipur cuisine stalls, reinforcing the university's reputation across its 84+ engineering, management, law, and science programs.
The students and music lovers in Raipur can register through BookMyShow or can call 70671 24574, 91111 01444 for more info. This Papon Live Raipur 2026 event solidifies MATS University's dual role as Chhattisgarh's academic powerhouse and entertainment capital, making January 17 a highlight on the region's cultural calendar.
