In celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Tulu Yakshagana, Alliance University organised a workshop and a traditional performance with the support of the Tulu World Foundation and Tuluvere Chavadi Tenkai Bommasandra.
The programme featured sessions led by cultural experts and scholars, introducing students to the history, evolution and significance of Tulu culture, folklore, language and performing arts.The workshop was designed to give the participants a better understanding of one of the rich folk traditions of Karnataka and its continued cultural significance.
The event culminated with a captivating performance of the famous Yakshagana prasanga ‘Siri Krishne Chandapali' by the highly acclaimed artistes of Mangaluru. The performance showcased the distinctive storytelling, music, dance and theatrical traditions that have made Yakshagana one of India's most celebrated folk art forms.
The programme was designed to motivate the students to explore the rich cultural heritage of India and to promote the use of regional languages, folklore and indigenous performing arts, the university said.
The event brought together scholars, performers and students on a common platform, highlighting the importance of preserving traditional art forms.
Alliance University said such initiatives reflect its continued commitment to extending learning beyond the classroom while promoting India's rich and diverse cultural heritage.
