IIT Kharagpur Graduate Clears 14 Government Exams; Shares the Study Strategy Behind His Success

Persistence, consistency, and disciplined preparation helped Lomada Nagendra Sai, a 29-year-old IIT Kharagpur graduate from Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa district, achieve what many government job aspirants only dream of. Over nearly three years, Sai cleared 14 Central Government recruitment examinations, demonstrating that resilience can be just as important as academic excellence.

Sai, who holds a five-year integrated BTech-MTech degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, initially planned to pursue a career in the IT sector. However, the widespread layoffs during the COVID-19 pandemic prompted him to rethink his career path and opt for the stability of government service.

From IIT Graduate to Government Job Aspirant

Coming from a family where both parents are employed in government service, Sai decided to begin preparing for competitive examinations in 2022.

His journey was far from easy. The first few attempts ended in failure, forcing him to reassess his preparation strategy. Instead of giving up, he moved to Hyderabad to prepare full-time under proper guidance and in a more focused learning environment.

The decision marked the beginning of an intensive preparation phase that would eventually lead to multiple successes.

Three Years of Discipline and Consistency

Sai followed a rigorous daily routine centred on disciplined study and continuous self-improvement.

His preparation strategy included:

• Studying for nearly 12 hours every day
• Taking regular mock tests
• Analysing mistakes after every examination
• Revising General Studies consistently
• Learning from failures rather than becoming discouraged

According to Sai, every unsuccessful attempt helped him identify weaknesses and refine his preparation, making him better equipped for subsequent examinations.

Cleared 14 Central Government Examinations

Over time, Sai began clearing examinations conducted by several Central Government organisations, including:

• Staff Selection Commission (SSC)
• All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)
• Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB)

His latest achievement came after qualifying the SSC Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) Examination, taking his total number of Central Government exam selections to 14.

The achievement stands out in India's highly competitive recruitment landscape, where thousands of candidates prepare for years to secure a single government job.

His Advice for Government Job Aspirants

Reflecting on his journey, Sai encourages aspirants not to lose confidence after setbacks.

His key message is simple:
