No ABC ID, No Results: AKTU Warns Students Across 700+ Affiliated Colleges

 

Students enrolled in more than 700 colleges affiliated with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) may face difficulties accessing examination forms and results if they have not created and updated their Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID.

The university has directed affiliated institutions to ensure that the ABC IDs of all students are created and updated on the AKTU ERP portal within the stipulated deadline.

According to the directive issued by AKTU Controller of Examinations Prof Deepak Nagariya, ABC IDs for students enrolled in the 2025-26 academic session and earlier batches must be created and updated on the university's ERP system by August 15.

The university has also warned that students who do not have an updated ABC ID on the ERP portal may not be able to access their examination results through DigiLocker.

What is an ABC ID?

The Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) is a digital credit repository introduced by the Government of India under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The system allows students to digitally store and manage academic credits earned during their higher education. It is intended to facilitate the transfer and accumulation of credits across recognised higher education institutions.

AKTU is currently uploading students' academic results to the National Academic Depository through DigiLocker. For this process, students need to have a valid and updated ABC ID linked to the university's records.

AKTU warns students over missing ABC ID

The university has asked directors and principals of all affiliated colleges to ensure that the ABC IDs of their students are created and properly updated on the ERP portal before the deadline.

AKTU Vice-Chancellor Prof JP Pandey said students whose ABC IDs are missing or not updated on the university ERP system will face problems with their examination-related services.

“If a student’s ABC ID is not available or updated on the university ERP portal, their result will not be uploaded to DigiLocker. Such students will also not be able to see their upcoming examination forms on the ERP portal,” Pandey said.

The directive applies to students from the 2025-26 session as well as those enrolled in earlier batches.

Students have therefore been advised to check their ABC ID status on the AKTU ERP portal and ensure that their details are correctly updated before the August 15 deadline.

The move comes as universities increasingly integrate academic records with the government's digital education infrastructure under NEP 2020, with ABC IDs becoming an important component of credit management and digital academic records.
