AICTE Admission 2026-27: Engineering, Management Colleges Can Fill Vacant Seats Till September 14

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has extended the admission deadline for the 2026-27 academic session, allowing AICTE-approved technical institutions to fill notified vacant seats until September 14, 2026.

The revised schedule covers eligible admissions to technical programmes, including institutions offering Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Post Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM) programmes.

The updated academic calendar was issued through an AICTE circular dated August 13, 2026, following the Supreme Court's order in MA 2380/2026 dated August 12, 2026.

AICTE Admission 2026: September 14 Deadline for Vacant Seats

According to the revised academic calendar, eligible candidates can be admitted against notified vacant seats in AICTE-approved institutions until September 14, 2026.

The same deadline applies to lateral entry admissions, allowing eligible students to enter directly into the second year of applicable programmes.

The extension could provide an additional opportunity for students who did not secure seats during earlier counselling rounds or are still looking for available seats in engineering, management and other AICTE-approved technical programmes.
