On August 19, ASMi Business School, Techno India University, took on the mantle of finance professionals at the ASMi Finance Marathon 2026. The activity aimed to test the participants' ability to assess the actual business scenarios, make strategic financial decisions and provide actionable recommendations.
The marathon was created to bring financial learning out of the classroom, and provide students with the opportunity to use their analytical skills to solve business problems and present their findings confidently.
Industry views were also introduced to the student experience during the event. Participants were given a glimpse into the professional world by the speakers, Mainak Roy, Financial Controller, London Borough of Brent, Anshul Priya, Business Head – India, IMA, Prerana Das, Relationship Development Officer, IMA and Subham Singhal, VP, Administrations, IMA – Kolkata Chapter.
Students were also rewarded for their presentation skills, receiving certificates for their confidence, analytical skills and their ability to think practically about business solutions.
The Finance Marathon was organized by IMA and in association with 91.9 Friends FM, providing a mix of industry exposure and hands-on learning. The event provided the participants with a chance to experience financial decision making in a competitive environment and learn from professionals in the field.
The initiative is part of a trend in financial education that puts increasing importance on experiential learning, in which students are expected to not just understand the financial concepts, but also analyse situations, make decisions, and present solutions that can be applied in real business environments.
