The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has invited applications for the engagement of Young Professionals (YPs) on a contractual basis, offering selected candidates a monthly stipend of ₹1.5 lakh. The last date to submit applications is July 16, 2026.

According to the official notification, the engagement is purely contractual and does not guarantee permanent employment with the central bank. Selected candidates will be required to work full-time in Mumbai and will not be permitted to undertake any other paid assignments without prior approval from the RBI.

Tenure of Engagement

The RBI plans to appoint Young Professionals for an initial period of three years. Based on performance and mutual agreement, the contract may be extended, although the total tenure cannot exceed five years. Successful candidates are expected to join between August and October 2026.

Stipend and Benefits

Young Professionals will receive a fixed monthly remuneration of ₹1,50,000, subject to applicable tax deductions. The RBI has clarified that no additional allowances, perks, or benefits will be provided beyond the stipulated monthly payment.

Eligibility and Selection

The detailed eligibility criteria, educational qualifications, and post-specific requirements have been outlined in the official notification. The RBI has advised applicants to carefully review the requirements before applying, noting that meeting the minimum eligibility conditions does not automatically guarantee selection.

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic qualifications, professional experience, and overall suitability for the role.

The selection process will involve:

  • Preliminary screening and shortlisting of applications
  • Verification of documents
  • Personal interview

The RBI may restrict the number of candidates called for interviews depending on the number of vacancies and the quality of applications received.
