Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to take prompt action on complaints raised by students and parents following protests over administrative lapses and problems at educational institutions across the state.

The Chief Minister's directions follow student protests reported in Lucknow, Azamgarh, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Unnao and other districts. Officials have been asked to closely monitor schools and colleges and ensure that issues such as teacher shortages, infrastructure deficiencies and administrative delays are resolved without delay.

CMO Officials Appointed as Education Nodal Officers

Officials from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) have been appointed as nodal officers to monitor educational institutions and track deficiencies.

The monitoring will cover institutions under:

  • Basic education
  • Secondary education
  • Higher education
  • Technical education
  • Vocational education
  • Social welfare
  • Labour departments

The government has also directed officials to identify those responsible for lapses and fix accountability for negligence.

Teacher Shortage and Recruitment Delays Under Scrutiny

Teacher deployment and recruitment delays have emerged as key concerns.

The government has questioned delays in deploying teachers to Sarvodaya schools, despite the new academic session beginning on April 1.

Officials responsible for delays in issuing teacher recruitment advertisements in June will also be identified, according to the government's directions.

The Chief Minister has made it clear that administrative delays affecting students, teachers and the functioning of educational institutions should not be ignored.

District Magistrates to Monitor School Complaints on Social Media

Chief Secretary SP Goyal has directed divisional commissioners and district magistrates to monitor social media posts concerning schools and other educational institutions.

District magistrates have been asked to examine complaints raised through official social media channels and provide fact-based responses to concerns raised by students, parents and other stakeholders.

The move is aimed at ensuring that complaints emerging on social media are not merely acknowledged but are followed by appropriate administrative action.

UP Schools Asked to Improve Infrastructure and Sanitation

The government has also issued guidelines aimed at improving school infrastructure, cleanliness and communication with students and parents.

Officials have been instructed to take preventive measures against:

  • Waterlogging during the monsoon
  • Poor sanitation
  • Infrastructure deficiencies
  • Delays in addressing student complaints
  • Communication gaps between schools and families

The latest directions signal a stronger emphasis on school accountability in Uttar Pradesh, with officials expected to respond quickly to student grievances and take preventive action before local problems escalate into protests.
