A shocking incident in the usually serene town of Manipal has raised serious concerns about student safety after a 22-year-old man broke into a women’s hostel and sexually harassed a student through an open window. The man, who is not associated with the hostel or any local educational institutions, was swiftly arrested by the police after hostel authorities filed a formal complaint.

A dispute over mobile phones at Bellampally Polytechnic College escalated into a physical altercation between junior and senior students, resulting in injuries and the temporary suspension of classes. The incident occurred when junior students allegedly seized the mobile phones of senior students, sparking a retaliatory response. What began as a minor disagreement quickly turned into a violent clash, causing chaos on the campus.

To enhance educational opportunities for students in remote areas, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced the establishment of a boarding school in Spiti.
