Chamarajanagar district in Karnataka, identified as one of the most backward regions in the country, is grappling with a significant issue of school dropouts, reporting a total of 128 cases primarily among children from rural and interior villages across five taluks. Despite recent infrastructure improvements and the establishment of additional government schools in tribal and hilly areas, the dropout rate remains a pressing concern for local authorities.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced various reforms to enhance the state's education system and promote holistic development among students. Speaking at the annual function of Pinegrove School in Dharampur, Solan district, Sukhu highlighted a 17% increase in the education budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year compared to the previous year.
