SSU Athletes Shine at Tiranga Run 2026 in Bhubaneswar

On Independence Day, the team Iron Monk organised Tiranga Run 2026 – Run with the Tricolour in Bhubaneswar, SSU athletes showed their determination and sporting spirit. The SSU team participated in the 10 KM Timed Run and 5 KM Non-Timed Run, facing tough competition from almost 250 participants from Odisha and other parts of the country, despite the unfavorable weather conditions and the difficult course.

SSU had some significant results in the 10 KM Timed Run. Snehasish Roy (PT) took second while Leadingstar Rabon was in fifth place in the same class. Their performances showcased the preparation, discipline and determination of the University's athletes. Jopmiki Phawa, Asit Kumar Barik and Sambhav Gurjar also represented SSU in the 5 KM Non Timed Run. The involvement provided the athletes with a chance to be part of an Independence Day celebration focused on fitness, national pride and sport.

Nearly 250 participants from Odisha and the rest of the country converged at the Tiranga Run 2026. The event was the representation of the university and running with the national flag for the SSU contingent.

The university congratulated its athletes and Coach Satyabrata Nayak for their participation and performances in the event. Leadingstar Rabon's 5th place in the 10 KM category and Snehasish Roy's 2nd place in the same category were the highlights of SSU's participation.

The event also highlighted the broader contribution of sport to promoting discipline, hard work and teamwork of the students. The Tiranga Run 2026 was a platform for the SSU athletes to embody these values along with the essence of Independence Day. The SSU contingent highlighted the sporting fraternity of the university through their performances and participation and also marched the Tricolour in the streets of Bhubaneswar.
