The Department of Civil Engineering at Aditya University successfully completed a four-day Industrial Training Programme on “Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Civil and Structural Engineering.” The programme was conducted on 15 November, 22 November, 29 November, and 06 December 2025, and provided participants with practical skills and field-ready knowledge about the transformative role of AI in the discipline.
Organised in partnership with ICI, Kakinada Centre, and ACCE (India),, the programme featured hands-on training sessions designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and industry practice. Across the four days, participants were introduced to AI applications in structural analysis, predictive modelling, and sustainable building design. The event concluded with a valedictory session on 06 December 2025, during which participants received certificates and shared feedback on the impact of the programme.
The Head of the Department (HoD), Dr. B. Ramamohana Reddy, provided continuous guidance and support throughout the initiative. Expert presentations by GITAM University resource persons, Dr. Yaswanth, Dr. T. Suman Kumar, and Dr. N. Sunil offered valuable insights into the latest AI technologies in the civil engineering domain. The programme was effectively coordinated by Programme Coordinator, Dr. Govindarajan, ensuring a highly engaging and structured learning experience.
Dr. B. Ramamohana Reddy said they were happy with the success of the programme. According to him, it enhances the determination of Aditya University to match teaching to industry demands. He also pointed out that, with the changing face of the construction industry, the AI capabilities are what will be required by the upcoming generation of engineers. The sessions assisted students and professionals to improve their technical competence and be innovative with confidence.
The university also acknowledged the support provided by the management to help it succeed in the initiative. The participants appreciated the practical nature of the programme, and the emphasis it placed on the immediate applicability to real-time civil and structural engineering projects.
Aditya University has continued to lead in implementing new technologies including AI in its engineering programmes to equip students to address complex global problems.
