Silver Oak University, Department of Information Technology, College of Technology (COT) has completed an interactive four-week Green Skills and Artificial Intelligence Training Program, which was organized in collaboration with the Edunet Foundation on November 25 to December 20, 2025.

The IT, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Civil Engineering (CE) department students in their third and fourth year were taking hands-on experience of a combination of AI tools and sustainability issues. The program empowered participants with relevant skills in the AI field, environmental problem-solving, and real-life implementation of solutions to address topical global challenges, such as climate change and resource management.

Standout Student Projects

The five best project ideas were put into the limelight by organizers and demonstrated the creativity of students at the boundary of tech and green innovation:

  • Solar Potential Estimator: An AI-driven tool to assess rooftop solar viability and optimize energy generation.
  • Food Waste Reduction using AI: Predictive models to minimize waste in campuses and communities through smart forecasting.
  • AgriEcoTwin: AI-powered Sustainable Agriculture Digital Twin: A virtual replica of farming ecosystems for simulating eco-friendly practices.
  • Smart Campus Climate Scorecard & Behaviour Nudging System: Real-time dashboards and nudges to promote sustainable behaviors on campus.
  • Carbon Footprint Calculator & Tracker: Personalized trackers to monitor and reduce individual and institutional emissions.

Such projects underscore the fact that Silver Oak University is equipping its students to take sustainability directly in the face, with a combination of state-of-the-art AI with pragmatic environmental policies.

This project highlights the importance of industry-oriented future-focused education in Silver Oak University in the context of increasing demand in the knowledge of green technologies.
