Jaipur National University organized a successful Kisan Gosthi on "Disease Management in Rabi Crops" on January 19, 2026, where farmers were gathered to improve their knowledge regarding the protection of crops.

Event Highlights

Organized by Mr. Vinod Kumar, the event aimed at making effective use of disease diagnosis and disease management techniques to enhance rabi crop productivity. The event included an expert talk by Dr. (Prof.) R. K. Bansal, who discussed key diseases of rabi crops, their symptoms, causes, and management techniques.

Expert Insights Shared

Dr. Bansal discussed cultural, biological, and chemical control practices, stressing the importance of balanced use of plant protection chemicals and resistant crop varieties. Farmers were able to learn about early disease symptoms and ways to implement cost-effective measures.

Farmer Engagement

25 farmers actively participated in the interactive session, where they were able to share their field-related problems and get need-based solutions from the experts. The discussion helped create a knowledge exchange between the farmers and agricultural experts.

University Commitment

The Kisan Gosthi is a manifestation of the continued efforts of Jaipur National University to reach out to farmers through extension programs that help bridge the gap between research and agriculture. Such extension programs are also being conducted in Rajasthan to help manage crops during the rabi season. The event highlights the importance of JNU in promoting sustainable farming practices in the wake of increasing crop diseases faced by farmers during the 2026 rabi season.
