RNTU NCC Naval Wing Marks Kargil Vijay Diwas with ‘Operation Green 3.0’, Distributes 500 Saplings Across Bhopal

The NCC Naval Wing of Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU) organized a special function on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Operation Green 3.0, which was a unique event to pay homage to the valour of the soldiers and to promote awareness about environmental protection.

The campaign involved distributing 500 saplings at the various major squares in Bhopal, promoting the importance of trees and the natural environment. The campaign also emphasized the importance of remembering the contributions of the country's valiant soldiers, which can also be expressed in action towards society and the environment.

The cadets also paid tribute to the martyrs at Yudhasthal where they remembered the courage and sacrifice of soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the Kargil War. The programme was an inspiration to all of us and a reminder of the values enshrined by Kargil Vijay Diwas – patriotism, service and responsibility.

The NCC Naval Wing wanted to make young people responsible citizens through Operation Green 3.0, by making them feel attached to and proud of the environment. The campaign highlighted the importance of remembering not just the sacrifices of the armed forces, but also through a collective effort for a better future.

The university added that the initiative ‘Operation Green 3.0' is based on the premise that a tree planted represents hope, resilience and gratitude – a leaf represents the spirit of India's soldiers, and a root the eternal tribute to their sacrifice.

Finally, the program ended with a call to action, urging the citizens to safeguard the nation's heritage and its environment, in keeping with the essence of Kargil Vijay Diwas.
