NorthCap University Successfully Conducts the 5-Day Intel Unnati Faculty Development Program 

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering of The NorthCap University (NCU) in association with Intel and EdGate Technologies successfully organized a 5-day Intel Unnati Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on 'AI Acceleration using Intel Architecture'. The programme aimed to enhance the capacity of faculty members in the field of artificial intelligence technologies by providing them with training and hands-on experience from industry.

Prof. Nupur Prakash, the Vice Chancellor of The NorthCap University, emphasized the increasing need for collaboration between industry and academia to equip teachers with the skills necessary to meet the demands of the ever-changing AI landscape.

Mr. Nishith Pathak, Managing Director & Head of AI – Microsoft Business, Accenture, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence in various sectors and how educators need to be prepared with the right technological skills for the future.

The faculty development programme also included a series of hands-on technical sessions with the Lead Technical Engineer of EdGate Technologies, Mr. Suhaas D. The sessions addressed the major areas of AI such as Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs), the OpenVINO Toolkit and Intel architectures for AI acceleration.

The programme aimed to offer hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge, allowing participants to delve into AI optimisation strategies and the most recent technologies powered by Intel that can enhance AI workloads.

The five-day programme was followed by a valedictory address by Prof. (Dr.) Rita Chhikara, Director, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, The NorthCap University, who appreciated the collaborative effort of the industry partners and faculty members in making the programme a success.

Dr. Meghna Sharma, Associate Head (CSE) and Mr. Sumit Kumar, Assistant Professor (CSE) coordinated the programme and successfully carried it out.

The initiative reflects the university's continued focus on strengthening AI education through industry collaboration, innovation and faculty development.
