Five graduates of Chandigarh University have been commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army after completing their training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya.
Their commissioning ceremony was held at the Passing Out Parade on September 5, 2026, which marked the official start of their career as army officers. The five cadets who received their commissions are Harpuneet Singh, Lovepreet Singh Nagra, Aditya Pratap Singh, Vishal Pandey, and Shivansh.
All of the five cadets have studied at Chandigarh University in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) programme. They have graduated from Chandigarh University from the batch years of 2020-2025. They have also undergone training as cadets in the NCC Army Wing of the university.
After receiving their commissions, the newly commissioned officers have been posted to different arms and corps of the Indian Army. These include the Regiment of Artillery, Corps of Signals and Infantry.
The Passing Out Parade at OTA Gaya marked the completion of their rigorous military training and their entry into the officer cadre. For the five graduates, it also marked a transition from university life to their respective roles in the armed forces.
Chandigarh University congratulated Harpuneet Singh, Lovepreet Singh Nagra, Aditya Pratap Singh, Vishal Pandey and Shivansh on their commissioning and wished them success in their service.
Their commissioning adds another milestone to the university’s NCC journey, with five of its CSE graduates now beginning their careers as commissioned officers in the Indian Army.
