Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University has officially opened admission for the academic year 2026, 27. The university has published its admission brochure and is inviting applications for various courses including undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, and advanced diploma. JMI has introduced 30 new courses along with opening up more admission channels which in turn gives the students more freedom in choosing and enrolling in their courses for this educational term.

Courses Open for 2026, 27 Admission

JMI will be offering more than 141 courses in the 2026, 27 academic sessions. These courses will be spread through different faculties/schools and will offer various specializations.

The 30 new courses that JMI has introduced mainly fall under the humanities and social sciences stream, apart from the basic sciences.

• The new courses (BA) include Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Islamic Studies, Psychology, Urdu, English, Hindi, Geography.

The newly added PhD. courses are in the same categories as for M.A;

As per the admission booklet, there are approximately 22, 000 full time students in JMI, including around 7, 000 students from the Delhi campus who have enrolled in various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Besides 14 JU, the university also has two other constituent campuses.

Students are allowed to choose from the following course categories: regular university programmes, CUET, B.Tech., B.Arch., and the Multiple Entry Mode under the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) that is based on the Bell curve of India's NEP 2020.
