AURO University to Host ‘Echoes of Freedom 2.0’ Ahead of World Press Freedom Day 2026

AURO University is set to bring together young voices from across the country with the second edition of Echoes of Freedom, an inter-university celebration marking World Press Freedom Day 2026.

Organised by the School of Journalism & Mass Communication, AURO University, the event titled “Echoes of Freedom 2.0” will be held on April 25, 2026, at the university’s campus in Surat. This year’s theme, “Shaping the Future at Peace,” reflects the growing importance of responsible communication and dialogue in an increasingly complex global landscape.

The event aims to encourage students to explore the role of media, creativity, and expression in fostering peace and understanding. By creating a platform for dialogue and artistic expression, the university seeks to inspire participants to engage thoughtfully with contemporary issues.

A series of competitions has been planned to make the celebration both interactive and inclusive. These include an online Digital Poster Making Competition, an online Creative Writing Competition, and an offline Debate Competition, allowing participants to showcase their ideas across multiple formats.

The initiative is open to a wide audience, welcoming participation from school students (Classes 10–12) as well as college and university students. In a move to encourage maximum participation, registration for all events is free of cost, and e-certificates will be awarded to all participants.

With its focus on creativity, critical thinking, and meaningful dialogue, Echoes of Freedom 2.0 is expected to draw enthusiastic participation from students eager to express their perspectives and contribute to conversations around media, freedom, and peace.
