With just three days left, APG Shimla University in collaboration with AIFSET is preparing to host its Forensic Science Immersive Experience Programme on 18 and 19 May, so students can get a hands-on introduction to crime investigation, forensic science and evidence analysis.
This two-day programme is made especially for learners who are thinking about career paths after Class 12 in areas like forensic science, criminology, cybercrime, criminal psychology, and investigative sciences.
Instead of the usual career seminar format, the APG Shimla along with the AIFSET team wants to keep the focus on practical exposure and live investigative moments rather than classroom style sessions, so the students can actually see how the field works, and then make a clearer career decision.
Students to Experience Real Crime Investigation Activities
Students will take part in Real Crime Investigation Activities, like
- crime scene investigation simulation
- forensic evidence examination
- report writing activities
- State Forensic Science Laboratory exposure sessions
- and interaction with forensic professionals.
The university said the main aim is to help students understand how forensic science functions in real investigative setups.
A standout highlight of the programme is a scheduled visit to the Shimla Forensic Laboratory on 19 May, where students will see actual forensic working systems and laboratory procedures.
Food, Stay and Travel to Be Provided Free of Cost
All the participating students will receive:
- food
- accommodation
- travel support
completely free of cost during the programme.
For many students, educational trips and career exploration programmes often become difficult because of travel expenses or safety concerns. That’s why this initiative has been planned in a way that makes participation easier and more accessible for students travelling from different cities. Also, giving parents an assurance that their child is safe.
A Chance to Explore Shimla Alongside Career Exposure
Apart from the academic experience, the programme also gives students an opportunity to visit Shimla with friends while exploring a growing career field. Apparently, Indian parents don’t allow their kids to go on trips; so this is your opportunity to plan a trip to Shimla with your friends.
For students finishing Class 12 and still unsure about which course to pursue, the event is being positioned as an opportunity to experience forensic science before making career decisions.
With increasing interest among students in crime investigation, cyber forensics, and criminal psychology, experiential programmes like these are becoming more relevant for career exploration.
Scholarships Also Announced for Forensic Science Admissions
The university is offering 5-10% scholarship for students interested in later taking admission into B.sc forensic science. Additional scholarship benefits may also be available for students who complete admissions along with referred friends, according to the university.
Registrations Open as Seats Remain Limited
The university stated that registrations for the Forensic Science Immersive Experience Programme are currently open, though seats for the event remain limited.
The programme will be conducted on 18 and 19 May at the APG Shimla University campus.
