APG Shimla University, in association with AIFSET, is set to host a two-day Forensic Science Immersive Experience on May 18 and 19, offering students practical exposure to crime investigation, forensic analysis, evidence examination, and real-world forensic science applications.
Designed especially for students interested in forensic science, criminal investigation, cybercrime, criminal psychology, and crime scene analysis, the programme aims to provide a hands-on learning experience beyond traditional classroom teaching.
Students to Experience Real Crime Scene Investigation Simulation
As part of the immersive programme, students will participate in:
- Crime Scene Investigation Simulation from 11:00 AM onwards
- Examination of evidence at the Forensic Science Laboratory
- Report writing sessions after lunch
- Event summarisation and course presentation
Unlike regular career seminars, the programme focuses on practical exposure, allowing participants to understand how forensic experts actually analyse evidence and investigate cases.
Shimla Forensic Laboratory Visit Scheduled on May 19
One of the major highlights of the event is the scheduled visit to the State Forensic Laboratory on May 19, where students will get exposure to real forensic working environments and laboratory procedures.
For many students exploring careers after Class 12, opportunities like these provide early understanding of how forensic science works in real-life investigation systems.
Food, Stay, and Travel to Be Provided by APG Shimla University
According to the organisers, students attending the immersive experience will be provided with:
- Accommodation
- Food
- Travel support
The initiative has been planned to make the experience more accessible and comfortable for students travelling from different locations.
For many students, especially those planning educational trips for the first time, concerns around safety, expenses, and parental approval often become major barriers. By arranging stay, food, and travel support, the university aims to make the experience easier for both students and parents.
The event also gives students an opportunity to visit and explore Shimla while participating in an academic and career-focused programme.
Scholarship Opportunities for Students
APG Shimla University has also announced scholarship opportunities for students who take admission into the university’s forensic science programme during these two days. Additionally, the students who refer a friend for admission into the forensic science course may receive additional scholarship or discount benefits if both students enrol.
Growing Interest in Forensic Science Careers
With increasing awareness around:
- Cybercrime
- Criminal investigation
- Digital forensics
- Crime scene analysis
- Criminal psychology
- Intelligence systems
forensic science is emerging as one of the fast-growing interdisciplinary career fields among students after Class 12.
Programmes like the Forensic Science Immersive Experience are becoming important for students who want to explore the field before making career decisions.
