In a major step towards strengthening technical education and employment opportunities, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has launched the Takniki Rozgar Setu portal, a digital platform designed to connect students, technical institutions and employers. The initiative aims to improve skill mapping, campus placements, and industry collaboration, creating a streamlined recruitment ecosystem for skilled youth across the state.

Developed by the state's Technical Education Department, the portal integrates students, educational institutions and employers on a single platform to simplify recruitment and placement processes.

Digital platform for students, employers and institutes

The Takniki Rozgar Setu portal enables students to create professional profiles, upload educational qualifications and training certificates, apply for jobs online, and track the status of their applications.

Employers can publish job vacancies, search for suitable candidates, shortlist applicants and update recruitment outcomes through the platform. Meanwhile, technical institutions can manage student records, verify candidate profiles and maintain placement data to strengthen links with industry.

Over 26,000 students already registered

According to the state government, 164 institutions have already joined the portal. These include:

• 136 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs)
• 18 Polytechnic colleges
• 5 Engineering colleges
• 5 Pharmacy colleges

The platform has so far registered 26,168 students through the Him Access Integration portal, with 23,054 students completing their skill mapping. Additionally, 97 employers have enrolled to recruit skilled candidates.

Strengthening education-industry collaboration

The Himachal Pradesh government said the portal is intended to bridge the gap between technical education and industry by providing employers with direct access to trained candidates while improving placement opportunities for students.

Beyond regular recruitment, the portal also enables citizens to hire skilled professionals such as electricians, plumbers and other technicians for short-term assignments, expanding employment opportunities beyond conventional jobs.

The government believes the initiative will improve governance through digital technology, strengthen technical education outcomes and position Himachal Pradesh as a growing hub for skilled human resources.
