Delhi CM Rekha Gupta vows to strengthen school education system with modern facilities and digital infrastructure

Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta has taken another step in transforming education in Delhi by inaugurating new academic blocks at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Dilshad Garden, and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Mansarovar Garden, on Tuesday. To further enhance digital learning, she has also inaugurated 101 state of the art ICT laboratories in government schools.

The Chief Minister explained that the aim of the Delhi Government is not just to build infrastructure but to make sure that students get world class education through these facilities equipped with modern technology.

Along with the Cabinet Minister Shri Ashish Sood and MLA Shri Harish Khurana, several other dignitaries also participated in the programme. The Chief Minister stated that the new buildings of the schools, the launch of more than 101 computer laboratories, the dedication of the modern academic infrastructure, and the Education Department's overall performance during the last 355 days, have brought about the progress.

She applauded the Ladli Foundation and the American India Foundation's role, and stated that real change can only happen when there is active collaboration between the government and the society.

The CSR activities, the setting up of 101 computer labs, the installation of over 2, 000 computers, and strengthening the digital infrastructure have given a new vibe to the government schools' education in Delhi.

The Chief Minister said that the government aims to make Delhi the state with the highest number of smart classrooms, computer labs, language labs, modern sports facilities, and robust educational infrastructure in the country. Alongside academics, focused attention is also being given to sports and nutrition.

She further said that in its one year of existence, the Education Department will launch 75 CM Shri Schools, which will be models of educational excellence. The 'Neev' syllabus, according to her, will also instill in students the importance of ethics, civic responsibility and patriotism.

Unprecedented expansion of educational infrastructure

The Chief Minister at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Mansarovar Garden, opened a newly constructed ground, plus, three, storey school building with 29 classrooms, developed as per the latest standards and academic needs. Likewise, at the DIET campus, Dilshad Garden, the Chief Minister unveiled a new ground, plus, three, storey building. This facility features 19 classrooms and is equipped with all the modern amenities required for teacher training and educational innovation.

With CSR assistance from the American India Foundation (AIF) and in partnership with the Ladli Foundation, 101 sophisticated ICT computer laboratories have been set up in 101 government schools in Delhi.
