Alumni appreciate the availability of teachers and excellent infrastructure. Let’s take a closer look at it.

About The School

The school was founded as St. Mary's School in 1941 when the Dewan of Jaipur, Sir Mirza Ismail, invited Jesuit fathers to open a quality school. In 1943, Jesuit fathers renamed the school St. Xavier's and moved to the present 17-acre site, which was donated partly by Jaipur Darbar. The famous three-story building was opened in 1952, and the hostel block (Junior School) was added in 1964. Co-education was introduced in 1989 after a short stint as a Hindi-medium school in the late 1970s to make it more inclusive. Today, the school is run by Principal Fr. M. Arockiam SJ and Rector Fr. Nelson A. D'Silva SJ under the aegis of Jaipur Xavier Educational Association.

Curriculum and Rules

St. Xavier's has had a permanent affiliation with the CBSE since 1984. The academic year is from April to March, with summer holidays from May 15 to June 30. Two semesters comprise end-term exams and two internal exams each. Progress requires a minimum of 40% in each subject (33% from Class XI to XII) and 90% attendance - tough but just norms. No re-exams or result disputes. Parents are pleased with the steady grading system, which readies children for board exams.

Infrastructure

  • Other: Junior/senior music and dance rooms, regular health checkups, two sickrooms with trained nurses

School Life and Discipline Requirements

Students reach school five minutes before the first bell rings. Classes are handled by monitors if teachers are late. School uniform is mandatory every day, during exams, and at events, messy dressers are sent back home. No mobile phones, comics, money exchange, or two-wheelers without a license (no cars, please). Evening sports and swimming activities are encouraged. Parents appreciate the strict but nurturing environment, which instills responsibility in children, although some say it takes time to get used to the rules.

Admission Procedure for 2026

Suitable for children who can handle strict discipline, 90% attendance, and English-medium education. Great option for C-Scheme and Malviya Nagar residents who want to avoid school transport issues.

Who Should Consider Other Options?

To help public education become stronger and to lessen the burden of education expenses on the families, the Karnataka Minister for School Education Madhu Bangarappa announced on Monday that the students from LKG to Class 12 will be given free textbooks and notebooks starting from the next academic year.

Speaking to the media, Bangarappa said that the decision has been taken to provide quality education to all without discrimination and starvation. "Parents should not put a burden on their minds on education. We are giving free textbooks and notebooks in all the classes so that no child will be without the necessary learning materials when the new academic year starts, " he added.

Besides, the minister talked about the state's ambitious plan of upgrading school infrastructure through the Karnataka Public Schools (KPS) project. He said that originally the government had approved setting up of only 500 Karnataka Public Schools, but now the figure has gone up to 900 schools to highlight the education point more and providing all necessary facilities under one roof.

"These schools are being set up with the intention of providing top notch education, state of, the art facilities, and better learning environments on par with private schools, " Bangarappa said. The additional KPS project is set to be carried out at a cost of around 3, 500 crore, which is a clear indication of the government's long term pledge to the public education system's rejuvenation.

The minister further said that the Karnataka Public Schools will house pre, primary, primary, and secondary education all in one campus, thus enabling the students to easily continue their education without any disruption. Besides, the scheme is also going to raise the government school enrolments and increase the level of education statewide.

Furthermore, Bangarappa mentioned that the launching of the newly approved Karnataka Public Schools will be at the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's hands in Shivamogga district, most probably, February or March. The distribution of textbooks and notebooks for free, together with the development of KPS schools, is being considered as a huge move towards inclusive and fair education in Karnataka.

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has released a press statement revealing that the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations will undergo several changes starting 2026. The main emphasis of the package of changes is to revamp the examination method in such a way that it becomes more transparent, student friendly and aligned with the national educational priorities.

The board has made public the fact that the Class 10 and Class 12 yearly examinations will commence on March 3, 2026. The schedule for the exams has been very well planned with the main aim of giving students enough time to prepare for the paper after the next one. Besides, with the introduction of strict security and surveillance measures, the examinations will be conducted in multiple centres across the state to ensure that the examinations are carried out smoothly and fairly.

Among the many changes that have been proposed, one stands out as a major amendment, i.e., the introduction of a single question paper format. From 2026, all the students will be given the same question paper thus doing away with the system of set A, B, and C which the papers have been divided into previously. A spokesperson of the Board explained that this step would eliminate the confusion and ensure standardization of marking across centres.

In one more major reform, the HPBOSE has taken a decision to include multiple, choice questions (MCQs) in all major subjects. There will be 20 MCQs in each paper, which is a step in line with the National Education Policy (NEP). Adding MCQs will test the students' conceptual understanding, reading comprehension skills, and will prepare the students for national, level competitive exams.

The board has also emphasized accelerating the answer script evaluation process. Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (HPBOSE) through efficient assessment methods, is planning to announce the result even earlier than the previous time. Hence, the students of Himachal Pradesh will get the results of their Class 10 and Class 12 board exams on April 30, 2026. Thus, students can plan their college admissions and entrance tests without any worry of delay.

Board officials mentioned that these changes have been formulated with the student at the center, stressing on fairness, less stress, and good learning outcomes. By the new examination system, students are going to be more confident and at the same time, the board will make sure that the students are well, prepared for higher education and future career challenges.

An adolescent girl, a student of Telangana Social Welfare Residential School at Banswada in Kamareddy district died on Sunday midnight after she fell out of a moving auto rickshaw. The girl's family has accused the school of negligence in the matter, and a police case has been registered.

The girl was a class 8 student from Kodicherla village in Madnoor mandal. The incident occurred around 7.40 pm at the girls’ residential school in Borlam village.

An autorickshaw had entered the campus carrying plastic chairs for Monday’s Republic Day event, and students helped unload the chairs, officials said. After unloading, four girls reportedly boarded the auto for a short ride up to the school gate.

Banswada police said the driver slowed near the gate to allow the girls to get down. It was said by the police that one of the victims jumped out of the moving vehicle and hit her head very badly as she fell on the cement road. At the same time, three other students also got down from the vehicle without any incident. The school staff took her to the Banswada government hospital where the doctors declared her dead.

The school principal, Sunitha, said that she wasn't around at the moment of the incident and that the staff hadn't seen the students getting into the auto. After the victim's father lodged a complaint with the police, a case was registered under BNS section 106(1) of causing death by negligence. The auto driver and the school principal were booked.

The girl’s father has accused the school management of negligence. He also told police that the autorickshaw driver was driving rashly and caused the accident.

Police said, “Prima facie it looks like an accident with one student meeting with an unfortunate fatal incident.”

The father’s complaint said, “...the school management should not have allowed the students to board the auto.”
