Bihar Teacher Recruitment TRE 4.0 Application Process Postponed for Over 32,000 Posts

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has postponed the commencement of the application process for the fourth phase of the Teacher Recruitment Examination, or TRE 4.0, which is expected to fill more than 32,000 teaching positions in government schools across the state.

The online registration process was scheduled to begin on September 1. However, the commission has delayed the application process, citing procedural changes. A fresh date for the commencement of registrations is expected to be announced shortly.

In an official notification, the BPSC said that online applications for the recruitment of school teachers under TRE 4.0 had been postponed because of procedural changes. The commission added that revised dates related to the recruitment advertisement would be announced soon.

The recruitment drive originally aimed to fill 32,388 vacant teaching posts under Bihar's Education Department. These vacancies were distributed across different school levels, including primary, middle, secondary and senior secondary education.

Of the advertised positions, 3,847 posts are for primary school teachers for Classes 1 to 5. Another 8,563 vacancies are available for middle school teachers handling Classes 6 to 8.

The recruitment also includes 3,877 posts for secondary school teachers for Classes 9 and 10. The largest share of vacancies is for senior secondary teachers, with 16,101 positions available for Classes 11 and 12.

Music Teacher Vacancies Increased

The total number of vacancies is also expected to increase following demands from teacher aspirants. The Bihar government has reportedly approved an additional 111 posts for music teachers.

With the inclusion of these new positions, the total number of vacancies under TRE 4.0 is expected to rise to 33,385.

The revised vacancy details are likely to be sent to the BPSC for incorporation into the official recruitment advertisement. Once the updated information is received and processed, the commission is expected to issue revised details regarding vacancies and the application process.

Aspirants Protest Over TRE 4.0 Changes

The postponement comes amid protests by teacher aspirants over several issues related to the TRE 4.0 examination.

Candidates had raised concerns about changes to the examination pattern and the introduction of negative marking. Aspirants also demanded greater clarity regarding the recruitment process and the number of available vacancies.

Following discussions with protesting candidates, the Bihar government announced that TRE 4.0 would be conducted in a single phase. The decision was seen as a response to one of the key demands raised by teacher aspirants.

The postponement of the application process means candidates will now have to wait for the BPSC to announce revised registration dates. Aspirants are expected to closely monitor the commission's official announcements for updates regarding the application schedule, revised vacancy details and other examination-related instructions.

With more than 33,000 teaching vacancies expected to be filled, TRE 4.0 remains one of Bihar's major upcoming teacher recruitment drives.
