A first-year medical student has been detained for questioning after a handwritten document allegedly containing references to bomb-making materials was discovered inside Rajarshi Dashrath Autonomous State Medical College in Uttar Pradesh. The incident has prompted a police investigation and heightened security measures on the medical college campus.

According to officials, the handwritten paper was recovered on Saturday from the X-ray room of the college by the department in charge. The document reportedly contained references to materials associated with making an explosive device. Following the discovery, the college administration immediately informed the police, who launched an investigation to determine the origin and purpose of the document.

Student questioned as investigation begins

Police said the preliminary inquiry led them to Sarfaraz, a first-year MBBS student from Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh, who had reportedly been on duty in the X-ray room on Friday night.

Sarfaraz has been taken into custody for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities have also questioned two other students who were reportedly on duty with him during the same period to gather additional information about the circumstances surrounding the document.

Investigators are currently examining the handwritten paper to determine its authenticity and whether it has any connection to criminal activity. At this stage, police have not confirmed any link between the document and extremist or terrorist activities, emphasizing that the inquiry remains at an early stage.

College administration informs police

According to college officials, the administration acted immediately after the document came to light.

Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Arvind Singh stated that the police were informed without delay after the paper was discovered.

"The investigation is underway, and further action will be taken based on its findings," he said.

Police officials have stressed that all possible angles are being examined before drawing conclusions regarding the student's role or the purpose behind the handwritten notes. They have urged against speculation until the investigation is complete.

Security review initiated

The incident has prompted the medical college administration to strengthen vigilance across the campus. Authorities have initiated a review of existing security arrangements, including monitoring of sensitive areas within the institution, to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Officials have not disclosed whether any additional documents or materials were recovered during the investigation.

The case highlights the importance of maintaining security and vigilance in educational institutions while ensuring that investigations are conducted fairly and based on evidence. Police have indicated that further action will depend on the findings of forensic examination of the document and the ongoing questioning of those involved.

The investigation is continuing, and authorities are expected to provide further updates once the inquiry progresses.
