The Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology of T.S. Mishra Medical College & Hospital celebrated the National Forensic Medicine Day with a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme and Forensic Quiz.

The academic event was attended by faculty members, medical students, and legal education professionals, who participated in discussions on forensic medicine, medico-legal systems, and the changing landscape of forensic sciences in healthcare and law.

The programme included a series of expert talks by Dr. Adarsh Kumar and Devang Pandey, who discussed the “Medico-Legal Blueprint” and the increasing need for interdisciplinary knowledge among medicine, forensic science, and the legal system.

The organisers said the CME sessions were designed to enhance awareness on medico-legal procedures, forensic investigation processes, and the contribution of forensic medicine in the present healthcare practice.

The event also featured a forensic quiz competition to promote student engagement and hands-on learning in the field of forensic medicine and toxicology. Discussions and academic activities related to evidence analysis, medico-legal concepts, and forensic applications in medical practice were carried out.

The programme was centered on experiential academic engagement and professional learning opportunities for students and faculty members from the first session to the last quiz felicitation ceremony.

National Forensic Medicine Day is celebrated to honor the role of forensic medicine in the criminal investigation, medical jurisprudence, toxicology and scientific examination process related to health care and legal systems.

T.S. Mishra Medical College & Hospital's initiative is a testament to the increasing focus on the integration of forensic education, medical training, and legal awareness in higher education institutions in India.

Forensic sciences are becoming more and more relevant in fields like criminal investigation, healthcare documentation, toxicology and medico-legal reporting, and events such as these are becoming more and more relevant for medical students to get hands-on experience and learn from other disciplines.
