The Department of Engineering Sciences & Humanities (SoESH) under the School of Engineering & Technology (SoET) at Sandip University, Nashik, has successfully concluded Deeksharambh 2026, a two-day programme. As students entered the University world, the programme fostered academic guidance, innovation, student leadership, creative activities and cultural performances.

The two-day programme was aimed at providing students with an opportunity to get to know what is expected of them in the academic sphere and to get to know activities outside the classroom. The program emphasized the importance of fostering students' confidence, creativity, teamwork, and leadership in addition to their academic studies, the university said.

Dr. D. D. Shinde, Dean of Academics, met with the students and offered them counselling on how to make the most of their academic career as part of Deeksharambh 2026. The session highlighted the need to have discipline, constant learning and consistent academic efforts.

The academic interaction was designed to enable students to appreciate that university education is not just about sitting in class and sitting for exams, and to motivate them to be disciplined and regular in their learning. Innovation and engineering were another key focus of the programme. In a Poster Presentation, students shared their innovative ideas on how engineering and technology can help shape a more sustainable and future-oriented future.

The activity gave students an opportunity to share their ideas, be creative and present their ideas. It also helped them think about engineering knowledge in the context of problems in the real world.

Student development was also emphasised during the programme. Students were introduced to SUN Clubs and student activities and opportunities available for leadership and holistic development by Mr. Darshan Ahire, Director of Student Welfare. The interaction acquainted students with opportunities to be involved in university activities other than their academic programmes, and motivated students to be actively involved in campus life.

An Activity Expo was also held in which the students showcased their projects, models, posters and other creative work. Students had the opportunity to share their ideas and work at the exhibition and learn to work in teams, communicate and gain confidence.

The activity also allowed students to get to know each other and experience various types of creative and project-based learning. The programme ended with cultural activities such as stand-up comedy, songs and dances. Students had the opportunity to present themselves and get to know their peers in a relaxed environment through the performances.

Deeksharambh 2026 was a comprehensive program at Sandip University that introduced students to the broader academic environment by providing them with academic guidance, engineering innovation, and student activities and cultural engagement.

The programme was in line with the University's emphasis of integrating academic learning with creative, leadership, communication and student participation opportunities as students start their journey at the School of Engineering & Technology.
