The Assam government has expanded its fee waiver scheme for college admissions. Education Minister Ranoj Pegu announced on July 1 that the eligibility criteria for free admissions had been revised this year. Previously, students from families with an annual parental income of up to Rs 2 lakh were eligible. This limit has now been raised to Rs 4 lakh.

The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has announced that students under 13 will no longer be eligible for admission to Class 9 in government and private schools. This new regulation mandates that students must be at least 13 years old by April 1 of the admission year to qualify for enrollment in Class 9.
