Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior, is delighted to announce a two day hybrid workshop, which will be called Mathematical Legacy of Bharat - Ancient to Modern Period, March 21-22, 2026. This event is organised by the Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems and Department of Engineering Sciences and showcases the mathematical legacy of India, which started with the timeless Vedic foundations and is now being applied in modern applications.

Educational Programme on Ancient and Modern Mathematics.

The workshop follows the mathematical history of the Indian sub-continent in Vedic and post-Vedic work, including geometry of the Sulba Sutras and other advances in arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry and the concept of early calculus by Indian masters such as Aryabhata, Brahmagupta, Bhaskara, and the Kerala School. These historical insights will be filled in by expert sessions that focus on both methodological rigour and historical continuity as well as the global impact of Bharatiya mathematics. The participants will discuss the applications of the indigenous knowledge systems in the present day science, education and interdisciplinary research.

Major Student Fest in Eastern India

Gajajyoti-2026 is the platform of Centurion University for Student Innovation in the field of Engineering, Management, Sciences and Arts! The fest draws colleges from different states including, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh. Additionally, in this techo-fest, cash prizes and exposure to the industry is offered to students in the form of live competitions and showcasing of projects.

The event is aligned to the skill-based education model of Centurion University that includes robotics challenges, startup pitches, science quizzes, debates, fashion shows and music performances over three days at the Jatni campus near Bhubaneswar.

Lovely Professional University is organizing EFX LPU 2026 – Sustainable Solutions today, a national engineering competition organized by LPU School of Mechanical Engineering and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. The competition provides ₹60,000 in cash prizes to student teams with innovative solutions for sustainability in India.

Event Details

The event is held today at LPU's main campus at 10 AM. Engineering students from all over India participated in the competition involving technical tasks related to renewable energy, waste management, and green manufacturing. Teams displayed their prototypes, made research paper presentations, and underwent expert judging all day long.
