The Department of Nutrition at Sister Nivedita University (SNU), Kolkata has officially announced the launch of two new academic programmes: B.Sc. (Food Science & Technology) and M.Sc. (Food Science & Technology).

The new programmes are aimed at students who are interested in learning more about the science and technology behind food, nutrition, innovation and sustainability. The courses will offer students a chance to get hands-on experience and learn from seasoned faculty and industry professionals, the university said.

Food Science & Technology is an interdisciplinary subject that combines chemistry, biology, and technology to solve food production, quality, safety, and innovation problems. The discipline has become more and more topical globally for its contribution to the development of solutions like plant-based protein alternatives, sustainable food systems, smart packaging technologies, and food safety practices.

The Department of Nutrition's programmes are designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to comprehend the scientific processes of food development and technology-based developments in the food industry.

The B.Sc. Food Science & Technology course is designed for students who wish to pursue their education in the field after passing their higher secondary exam. The M.Sc. Food Science & Technology programme, on the other hand, is for students who want to pursue further education and gain more in-depth knowledge of the field.

The students enrolled in the programmes will be provided with practical and hands-on learning experiences in the laboratory and in practice. The university also emphasized that students will have the opportunity to connect with industry professionals and subject matter experts.

PCTE Hatch Lab Incubator has added another achievement to its growing startup ecosystem as Mr. Garv Saluja, a third-year B.Tech CSE student and Founder of SMARTDESH Technologies LLP (Campus Bites), has been awarded a grant of ₹5,00,000 under the Punjab Startup Scheme by the hon'ble Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann.

AIFSET (All India Forensic Science Entrance Test), India's sole online entrance examination for forensic science education, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CV Raman University to enable admissions to forensic science courses through a streamlined and specialised admission process.

This partnership comes as another major milestone to increase the scope of students who want to explore a career in forensic science in India.After this collaboration, students who appear for AIFSET will have an opportunity to explore admission opportunities at CV Raman University for Forensic Science programmes offered by the institution.

NCC cadets from Graphic Era showcased an outstanding performance at the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Camp held in Rishikesh, earning multiple medals across cultural, academic, sports, and leadership-based competitions.

The cadets demonstrated discipline, teamwork, leadership, and dedication throughout the camp, bringing recognition to the institution through their achievements. Among the top achievers, CDT Simran Chauhan secured a Gold Medal in Aipan Art and a Silver Medal in the Quiz Competition. CDT Bhumika Bhatt also earned a Gold Medal in Aipan Art along with a Silver Medal in the Quiz Competition.

CDT Muskan Malik won a Gold Medal in Aipan Art and a Silver Medal in NIAP, while CDT Mohit delivered an impressive sporting performance by securing Gold Medals in Basketball and Volleyball, in addition to a Silver Medal in NIAP.

Adding to the medal tally, CDT Ashmit Verma achieved distinction by winning Gold Medals in Group Dance and Basketball, along with Silver Medals in the Quiz Competition and NIAP.

The achievements of the cadets contributed to a strong overall performance by the Graphic Era NCC contingent at the camp. The university congratulated all participating cadets for their dedication and for representing the Graphic Era with distinction on a broader platform.

The Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Camp serves as an important platform for NCC cadets from different regions of the country to engage in cultural exchange, leadership development, sports, and skill-based competitions while promoting national integration and unity.

Galgotias University celebrated a significant achievement in innovation and entrepreneurship as its student teams earned international recognition at Global EDVentures 2026, a prestigious global startup and innovation competition held in Hong Kong.

Representing India on the international stage, two student teams from Galgotias University competed against 19 teams from 10 countries, showcasing innovative solutions designed to address real-world challenges through technology and entrepreneurship.

Among the standout performers was Project TACTO, which emerged as the overall winner of Global EDVentures 2026 and also received the AWS Championship Prize. The project was developed by students Gaurang Pant, Shristi Mandoliya, and Kavya Singh, and focuses on a tactile learning solution aimed at improving educational accessibility for visually impaired learners. The recognition highlights the growing role of inclusive technology in transforming learning experiences for individuals with disabilities.

Another student-led venture, Tekurious Pvt. Limited, was recognised among the global finalists for its innovative virtual reality-based immersive learning platform. The team, represented by Akash Kumar, Yash Vardhan G, and Anoop Maurya, presented a technology-driven approach to enhancing education through immersive and interactive learning environments.

In recognition of the students' entrepreneurial efforts and innovative ideas, Galgotias University also announced financial support through its INR 10 crore Galgotias Innovation Fund. The university selected CarbonSync, Agri Rover, and Project TACTO for funding assistance, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing student-led startups and promoting a culture of innovation on campus.

The achievement reflects Galgotias University's continued focus on entrepreneurship, research, and technology-driven problem-solving.
